Isn’t she cute? I mean seriously.

My resolutions for 2006 were to run a 5k in under thirty minutes and to get a front page digg story. The digg thing was easy, but the 5k turned out to be harder.
I ran the New Years Day 5k on the first. I ended up finishing in 34:20. I don’t think the problem was entirely physical: I ended the run tired but not dying, I think it was mostly a pacing problem on my part. I didn’t have a good sense of how fast I was capable of pushing myself so I waited until it was too late to speed up.
So my 2007 New Years resolution is : Run a 5k in under 30 minutes.
The picture is me running over to give Kyra high 5, It was right by the end of the race and Kyra was cheering and clapping for me (See this picture for example).

Our street in the fog. Fog is a rare treat around here so I had to take some pictures. Me and kyra tried to go for a walk in it, but it was also really cold so we (I) only lasted 3 houses before We (I) wanted to turn around.

It’s panoramic day today. This is a great panoramic shot of the old cards stadium.
Four cute kids to help bring Christmas cheer!
I wasn’t there when this picture was taken, but if I had to guess, Kyra said no to the Santa hat because she despises (okay despises is a bit strong, but she’s definitely leery) the dude.

Kim pushes Kyra on the swing. Rotary park is really cool, they have a lot of different spinning things, different slides, and swings. Kyra knows parks by name now: my favorite is coldstone park, which is what she calls freestone park sometimes. She’s only been to coldstone twice but she knows what she likes.

Hmmm.. Photo stitching. This is kyra’s room, with three kyras in it! And Three dolls! But only 2 doll heads! Oops!
Kyras new bed is about 4 feet off the ground. She really enjoys throwing things back and forth off of her bed to the ground.
Pretty much every day when I get home Kyra wants to go swimming.
This isn’t a hard sell.
So pretty much every day Kyra and I, and Kim when here ears aren’t super pressurized with some sort of weird head cold thing, go swimming. We bounce, we sit on the stairs and throw toys, we float, we make baskets, if we’re filling up the pool kyra hoses various things down with the hose. Some days Kyra will go under a bunch, some days she won’t. Sometimes we’ll eat outside by the pool. Somedays we’ll get out of the pool and play in the yard for a while after we’ve swam. The point of this long list is that there’s a lot to do in the pool, and it’s the perfect time of year for it. It’s hot but feels great in the pool and if you’re walking around all wet it’s actually really nice out. It’s an idyllic use your time, splashing around and laughing with your family.
That’s not really a story, or a blog post, so I’ll throw in a picture: Isn’t kyra cute in this picture? This is a year old picture but growing up hasn’t affected her pool enjoyment.
